The guns of the Fort at Gale's Head, later named Fort Sewall, saved the U.S.S. Constitution from certain capture by the British in 1814. Now Fort Sewall is a popular place to watch the boats entering and leaving the harbor. You can also visit the historic barracks and magazine located there.
