The Sacred Cod, a 4’11” woodcarving of an Atlantic Codfish, hangs in the House of Representatives’ chamber in Boston’s Massachusetts State House.
It symbolizes the importance of the sea and the fishing industry to the survival and prosperity of the Commonwealth since early colonial times.
Each ornament is 3 3/4" wide, 2 1/4" tall and 1/4" thick.
