Every day Rebekeh, a young mother, would come to this same well to provide the water for her family?s needs. Sometimes her youngest would tag along for the walk. The water jugs were heavy, and carrying them made her feet and arms ache, even though the day had just begun. If only life were easier?
But Rebekeh remembered the promises of the rabbis: about a Savior whom God would send to save the people from their despair and sadness. She could not give up hope. Tonight, she would watch again for the star in the sky that would be the sign. Perhaps tonight would be that night?
